Masai Mara
Stage of the Great Migration, Land of the Big Five
The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most iconic reserves, covering 1,510 km² of rolling savannahs and acacia-dotted plains. Known for the Great Migration (July–October), when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross from the Serengeti. Also home to the Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and over 450 bird species.

Lake Nakuru
Haven of Flamingos and Rhinos
Lake Nakuru National Park is a jewel of the Great Rift Valley, covering 188 km² around its famous soda lake. Once renowned for its millions of pink flamingos, it remains a sanctuary for wildlife including endangered black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards, hippos, and over 400 bird species.
Best time: Year-round, though June–March offers the best wildlife viewing

Amboseli
Giants Under Kilimanjaro
Amboseli National Park (392 km²) is world-famous for its huge elephant herds roaming against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Open plains, swamps, and acacia woodland make it one of Africa’s most scenic parks, home to lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, and an incredible variety of over 400 bird species.

Tsavo East
The Land of Red Elephants
Tsavo East is Kenya’s largest park (13,747 km²), a vast wilderness of open savannahs and bushland. Famous for its red-dust-coated elephants, it also hosts lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and crocodiles along the Galana River. Tsavo West
Scenic Landscapes & Wildlife
Covering 9,065 km², Tsavo West combines volcanic hills, lava flows, and lush springs with classic savannah. Wildlife includes elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos (in the Ngulia Sanctuary), hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, and over 600 bird species. Taita Hill
Lodge on Stilts & Sanctuary Wildlife
The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (110 km²) is a private reserve bordering Tsavo West, famous for the unique Salt Lick Lodge built on stilts above waterholes where elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and lions come to drink. A smaller but intimate safari experience, it offers opportunities to observe wildlife up close in a tranquil and scenic setting. Its elevated vantage points also provide stunning views of the surrounding hills and plains.
